Privacy Policy
Daily Word and Practice data stay on your device. Only if you explicitly open Duels does the app create an anonymous game profile with no email address or password.
Information stored on your device
The app may store local settings and accessibility preferences, the post-game analysis preference, whether the What’s New dialog was shown, an active game, results, statistics and streaks, achievement state, result archive, daily-reminder settings, and your selected app language. Local results store feedback patterns and completion time, not the target word or your guessed words. In Duels, your own guesses are also stored on your device to restore your board; the target word is not stored there.
Post-game analysis is calculated on-device against the reviewed answer data. Target words, guesses, candidate lists, and suggestions are not sent to Firebase and are not stored in the result archive.
Usage measurement and crash diagnostics
Version 1.3 uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to measure onboarding and game completion, return use, reminder and sharing use, and to diagnose crashes. These services may receive a pseudonymous technical installation identifier, usage events, engagement times, device and operating-system information, and crash data.
Game events may include screen, mode, word length, result, number of attempts, a predefined rejection reason, word-data version, and a hashed opaque puzzle or Duel identifier. They do not include the answer, guessed words, friend code, user ID, free text, player name, email address, share destination, or advertising identifier.
Settings include a “Share usage and diagnostics data” switch that is enabled by default. Turning it off stops future Analytics and Crashlytics collection. It does not disable network communication required for a Duel you choose to use. MilaQuest does not run personalized advertising, use IDFA, or request App Tracking Transparency permission.
Duels with friends
Opening Duels creates an anonymous Firebase Authentication identifier, a friend code, and an automatically generated temporary display name. Before using friend search, you choose a searchable display name. The service normalizes that name, requires it to be unique, and allows only an exact, rate-limited, limited-result search. Search results expose only the safe display name and public profile state needed to send a friend request; they never expose the Firebase user ID, email address, or account information.
Cloud Firestore stores friend relationships, requests, invitations, Duel state, the selected Duel language and word-data version, and color-feedback patterns in attempt order. The target word is stored in a protected server collection. Each guess is checked by a server function and is not written to a document the opponent can read; the opponent sees only feedback tiles without letters. Firebase App Check uses App Attest or DeviceCheck where available to validate app requests.
Unanswered friend requests and invitations are intended for automatic deletion after 30 days, answered requests are deleted immediately, and completed Duels are intended for automatic deletion after 90 days. You can delete the friend code, relationships, searchable display name, and related Duels immediately with “Delete Duel profile” in the lobby. “Delete game data” deletes local data only.
Information we do not collect
MilaQuest does not ask for an email address or password for the game profile, does not offer chat, public browsing of player lists, advertising, in-app purchases, subscriptions, or advertising tracking. The app does not request access to location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photos.
Reminders and notifications
The daily reminder is off by default. Notification permission is requested only after you choose to enable it. The reminder is scheduled locally by the operating system; MilaQuest does not use a push server, collect a notification token, or send notification data.
Sharing a result
When you share a result, its text is handed to the operating-system share sheet. You choose the receiving app or person. MilaQuest does not receive a copy, and the target word and guessed words are not included.
Contact, word reports, and suggestions
Contact, word-report, and suggestion actions open a draft in your email app; nothing is sent until you confirm it. The draft can include the app version, operating system, game mode and, for a word report, the reported word. It does not include guess history or move analysis. If you email info.morswisa@gmail.com, we receive your sender address and the content you choose to send. We use it to reply, handle a problem, improve the app, respond to a privacy request, or meet a legal obligation, and retain it only as long as necessary. Email is provided by Google.
Hosting and links
The public information pages are hosted through Firebase Hosting. Opening a page may provide the host with ordinary request data such as IP address, browser type, and request time under Google’s policy. Downloading through Apple or Google is subject to the relevant store and account policies.
Deletion and security
You can delete local game data in Settings. That action does not change your analytics choice or delete the Duel profile. Delete the Duel profile separately from the lobby; deleting the app alone is not a request to delete server data. MilaQuest cannot restore local data or a deleted Duel profile.
Children
MilaQuest is intended for a general audience and is not marketed to children. Duels do not ask for contact details and do not include chat. If an inquiry includes a child’s personal information, contact us so we can review and delete information under our control where required.
